Pedigree: Nimbus is by the Keur stallion "ULFT," who is considered one
of the top breeding stallions in Holland. Ulft is the sire of the Olympic
stallion "Ferro" as well as other Grand Prix dressage horses including Caesar
and Disney. He also has sired six sons that have been licensed: Boston,
Conveyer, Dublin, Dukaat, Fair Play and Ferro.
Nimbus' dam "KARONA," who received her Keur status in 2004 , is by the
famous Preferent stallion "FLEMMINGH." Flemmingh already has 4 approved
stallions: Kelvin, Krack C, Mooiman & Mount Everest (Sweden). His sons Lingh and
Krack C have won in the Grand Prix and Krack C was the best KWPN Dressage horse
during the World Championship in Jerez.
Nimbus is also a
half-brother to the famous Grand Prix dressage horses: Olympic Ferro (2000
Olympics, 2002 World Championships), Gullilt (2000 Olympics), and Caesar (1997
North American Championships) He is also closely related (on the dam line) to Gestion Lingh ( 2004 World Cup) and Krack C (2002 World Championships).
Conformation:
Nimbus is a "modern type" stallion who is extremely elegant and athletic with a
beautiful head, neck and topline. He is a correct and elastic mover with great
aptitude for both collection and extension. At the only breed show I competed
him in, Nimbus won the 4yr old & older stallions class both in hand and under
saddle, won the suitable to become a dressage horse class, and was named
champion stallion.
Temperament:
Nimbus is extremely intelligent and learns the difficult movements quickly. He
is very "ride-able," accepts contact well and is comfortable to sit. He is also
extremely willing and well focused when he works, even in the presence of
mares. Nimbus is a pleasure to ride as he is energetic, yet incredibly sensible
and not spooky. Around the barn, Nimbus is playful and inquisitive -- he loves
to "play ball" and watch over the farm from his turnout. He has no vices.
